Africa Rally Championships Rd.5 Zimbabwe Challenge Rally
H.Miyoshi and H.Ichino win the 2008 Zimbabwe Challenge!!
The 5th round of the Africa Rally Championships, "Zimbabwe Challenge” was held from 22nd August to 24th August, around the capital city of Harare, located in the north central Zimbabwe. The first day included the unique 3-car race held around Donnybrook circuit, in eastern Harare. The H.Miyoshi/ H.Ichino pair had a great start in their TYPE Gr.N equipped Lancer Evo. IX by setting the fastest time of the day.

he rally moved west of Harare, to the roads around Norton. The rally turned out to be a very harsh battle, as many suffered trouble and only 10 out of the 17 starters were able to finish the rally. But this wasn't the only thing troubling the drivers as there were other cars on the course, and even a tractor at one point. The performance of the TYPE Gr.N did not give in, as the rally then moved to Ruwa for the final day. All 10 cars were able to complete the final day, as H.Miyoshi and H.Ichino took control of their car, the rally and headed for a 1st place podium finish!

The pair were the first Japanese entrants to participate in the rally and the first to win!! The win moved the pair into 1st place of the Africa Rally Championships as they head in to the final round.

The next and final round of the African Rally Championships (ARC) will be held in Zambia from 12th to 14th September. We are all looking forward to supporting H.Miyoshi/H.Ichino pair and the performance of the TYPE Gr.N in the final round!!
