| Salo Wins Again! |

The second round of the Finnish Rally Championships were held on the 15th and 16th of February, in the central Finnish area of Laukaa. Coming off a 1-2 finish from round 1 with their TYPE Gr.N equipped machines, both J.Salo and K.Katajamaki were looking to perform well again.
J.Salo met all expectations and drove hard from the start. Finishing in 2nd place in SS1, he was able to post the fastest times for SS2 and SS3. On the other hand, K.Katajamaki had some trouble in SS1, when he hit a rock and lost valuable time. He ended up finishing in 9th but drove hard to finish in 3rd in SS2 and 4th in SS3.
J.Salo continued with his brilliant performance, by taking the top times for both SS4 and SS5. He was able to make full use of the TYPE Gr.N’s potential to win the second round of the championships.
J.Salo commented that his car was feeling very good until the middle stages of the rally, where the car didn’t feel as great. But looking at the times (fastest times for SS4, SS5), the stable driving style suited the conditions and the car better.
K.Katajamaki drove hard until the end, posting the top time for SS7 and finished in 3rd position, only 1.1 seconds behind second place. |
