The 4^th round of the Finnish Rally Championship, Keski-Uusimaa Rally was held in Kerava, located in southern Finland, from 13^th -14^th June. After a 3month absence, the seasons have changed and the battle for the championships was fought on gravel roads.

 

As the rally started, the TYPE Gr.N equipped J.Salo was the first car out on the course. This apparently was a new experience for him and made it a little difficult. Salo built a slight lead after the first few stages but mentioned that the course was more slippery than expected. On the last stage, Salo set the fastest time, but it was not enough and finished the rally in 5^th position. Another TYPE Gr.N equipped driver, K.Katajamäki, on the other hand was driving consistently and battled hard through out the rally to finish in 2^nd position!

 

The second place finish for Katajamäki gives him 46 points to share the driver's championship lead heading into the 5^th round. Salo is 5^th place finish, puts him in second overall position. We all expect both TEIN users to battle hard in the next round as the fight for the championship heats up!
