Rd.4 of Civic Inter Series took place in Fuji Speedway. The qualifying race held on the 26^th of June turned out pretty intense when 6 cars were to place within 1sec. behind the leader. TEIN users were Goto, Matsui, Mizukoshi, and Kobayashi who placed from 2^nd to 5^th respectively.

 

On the race day held on the 27^th, it started to sprinkle right before the race as if it has been waiting for this moment. Teams were to make a judgment at the last second; whether to change out the tires to rain tires in the dummy grid area, or keep their tires, but since it seems that it would not get any worse, they all started on slick tires.

 

Goto starting 2^nd place, and Matsui 3^rd, they both take the 1^st corner side-by-side. From the 2^nd place and on were all bunched up in a big group until the final sector, and then a collision occurred at 13^th corner! And now Akimoto leading the race, is on a solo run.

 

Matsui pushes hard to catch the leader, but the collision during the first lap was too much of a blow, and finishes 2^nd. The points are even with the leader, and he is now 1^st place tied overall. Kobayashi who has been leading the standings was forced to retire due to machine failure and this round became his first to end up with no points earned. Goto, and Mizukoshi finished 4^th and 5^th respectively and placed 3^rd, and 4^th place overall.
