Rd.3 of China Touring Car Championship was held between July 25^th and 26^th in Shanghai International Circuit. TEAM FRD aims for a consecutive win while keeping their momentum from Rd.2. During the qualifying round, one of the TEIN users Car No.1&2 778KIA Cerato takes top 2 positions followed by TEAM FRD sitting from 3^rd to 5^th spot, which resulted in five TEIN users starting from the top of the grid.

 

In lap2 of the final race, Car No.10 FRD Focus moves up to take 2^nd position, and his maneuver happened to signal everyone to raise the heat. While fierce battle was fought between the drivers to take better position, the winner of Rd.2, Car No.15 FRD Focus and Car No.19 SRT MAZDA6 collide with each other, and ended their race.

 

Once the safety car pulled off, Car No. 10 FRD Focus immediately takes on Car No.6 778KIA Cerato to take the lead, while Car No.11 FRD Focus moves up to 3^rd place. Both teammates try to aim for the podium finish, but on lap12, Car No.10 FRD Focus was forced to retire due to a machine failure.

 

The top of the podium is now fought between Car No.5&6 778 KIA Cerato, and Car No.11 FRD Focus, but Car No.1 HANKOOK Accord manages to sneak by the pack to steal the lead. Car No.11 FRD Focus wins the battle among the three and chases Car No.1 HANKOOK Accord, but could not catch him by merely 0.18 sec. and settled for 2^nd place.

 

Days later, Car No.1 HANKOOK Accord who once was the first one to receive the checkered flag was given a 10 sec. penalty. Therefore, it automatically moved Car No.11 FRD Focus from 2^nd place to 1^st, and he was awarded with two consecutive wins this season.

 

Rd.4 will be held in Beijing Golden Port Circuit between August 15^th and 16^th. We will give our best to aim for the 3^rd consecutive win, so stay close for more action from TEAM FRD and TEIN!
