The 8^th and final round of the P-WRC (Production World Rally Championship), "Rally GB", was held from October 23^rd to 25^th, in Cardiff, the capital of Wales.

This years rally was made up of 16 stages covering 348km. Heavy rain and strong winds made the conditions very difficult throughout the rally for all the teams.

 

With the taste of last year's first P-WRC victory still lingering, the expectations for another repeat performance was high for the team and for P.Flodin, driving the Uspenskiy Rally Technica Impreza GRB equipped with the TYPE Gr.N damper.

 

DAY 1: 6SS, total distance of 130.3km

Suffering from some vehicle trouble in the opening stages, they struggled to raise the pace. Disaster struck just before the finish of SS3 when they lost one rear tire, forcing them to retire for the day. The team worked hard to repair the car and start DAY2 through the super rally system.

 

DAY 2: SS6, total distance of 138km

With all the repairs completed in time, they started the day in 12^th position. Even with strong rain and windy conditions affecting the course, they managed to set 3 consecutive best times from SS7 to SS9. The weather conditions turned for the worst after SS10, but they kept pushing hard right to the end, moving up 3 positions to finish the day in 7^th position.

 

DAY 3: SS4, total distance of 79.8km

Determined to finish the rally and the season on a high note, they continued to push hard during the final day, setting the best time in 2 stages. Considering all the time lost during the early stages of the rally, their 7^th position finish was well respected. During the final vehicle examination, the 1^st placed vehicle was surprisingly disqualified, making the official final position for the team, 6^th position.

 

This rally started off on a bad note, but looking back at the results, out of the total 16SS, P.Flodin set the fastest time 5 times proving his ability and the performance of the Uspenskiy Rally Technica team.

 

With the 2009 rally season now completed, we can now wait and see what beholds us in 2010.
