The 1^st round of the Russian Rally Championship, "Rally Peno" was held from the 31^st January in western Russia. The 2008 P-WRC "Rally GB" winner, P.Flodin and the Uspenskiy Rally Tecnica (URT) team took part in the first round with the TYPE Gr.N equipped Impreza WRX STI (GRB).

P.Flodin has had much success with the Russian based team and he was looking to further strengthen his relationship with the team and also prepare for the upcoming P-WRC rally season.

 

P.Flodin had a great start in the fast paced snow filled rally by setting the 2^nd fastest time in the first stage. He then picked up the pace in the next few stages and set consecutive top times! At one point there was a scare, as his engine stopped and he lost valuable time, but once he was able to restart, he took back the lead and never looked back. He went on to dominate the rally, and ended up winning 4 out of the 6 stages in the rally!!

 

P.Flodin's win was his second consecutive victory with Uspenskiy Rally Tecnica and they both couldn't be happier with the result and the performance of the TYPE Gr.N. They look to continue their winning combination through to the next round of the Russian Rally Championships, "Rally Lakhdenpokhya" held in March.
