Rd.3 of Super Taikyu Series was held in Suzuka Circuit. This round was divided into two days, and the tension seems to calm down a bit compared to the one day event like the previous rounds. It was raining during the practice run on Friday, but the qualifying round on Saturday turned out to be sunny skies, so it was bit of a challenge for the teams to readjusting their car setup to make up for the differences in the conditions.
During the qualifying round, car#14 Kyoshin-keisoku My Road Okabe Jidosha RX-7 (FD3S) finished 1st place, achieving back-to-back 1st place qualifying from previous round. Even in the final race, he was leading the race, but unfortunately he had to retire due to car failure.
Car#27 FINA ADVAN M3 (E46) started out the race in 5th position but advances to 2nd place just within one lap. He took over car#14's position and came out on the top to finish 1st, achieving his second win of this season. Car#15 KYOSHO Makers Okabe Jidosha RX-7 (FD3S) came out 2nd, so TEIN user completed the 1-2 finish, and at same time recorded 3 straight wins from the opening round.
Next race will be held in August at Fuji Speedway. Keep your eyes open for more action from us. |
