Chinese Touring Car Championships Rd.2 Guangdong Zhuhai

TEIN Dominates in 2000cc and 1600cc Classes!

The 2nd round of the Chinese Touring Car Championship was held at Zhuhai International Circuit located east of Hong Kong. The circuit has a long history in China and is second only to Macao in popularity. The 4.3km circuit is a stop-and-go course made up of consecutive straights and hairpins.

In the 2000cc class, TEIN users made up of 4 Ford Focus’s, 4 Honda Accord’s and 4 Kia Forte’s, totaled an amazing 12cars on the field. In the 1600cc class, the 2 Beijing Hyundai i30 cars were running on TEIN.
Rain spoiled the testing sessions and none of the teams were really able find optimal setups getting no breaks in the weather. The Focus cars qualified in 1st, 5th, 6th, 11th, while the Accords in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 7th and Fortes in 8th, 9th, 10th and 12th.
The race got off with a fury as the cars scrambled in line. As the intense race progressed, 2 Focus’s, 3 Accord’s and 2 Forte’s were involved in a staggering crash which sent them out of the race. It was the #2 Focus driven by Martin Cao which took the checkered flag, but unfortunately he was penalized for passing when the yellow flag was out and dropped down the order to 6th position. This gave the overall win to the #7 Forte driven by Jackie Lo. In the 1600cc class, the 2 Beijing Hyundai i30 cars took the top two positions on the grid and drove a trouble free race to win.

Please look forward to more exciting touring car action from the CTCC in the next round, held in Chengdu, Sichuan region at the end of June.
