The 2010 All Japan Rally Championships Rd.1 “Tour de Kyushu in Karatsu” was held from April 9th to 11th in Karatsu, Saga prefecture in Southern Japan. The all tarmac event covered a total distance of 101.19km.
In JN4 Class, Ishida driving the Lancer Evo.X (CZ4A) set the fastest time in SS2 and was performing steadily until a turbine blow unfortunately forced him to retire from the event.
In JN3 Class, Shinkai was selected to be this year’s Melonbooks Rally Challenge driver in the Integra Type-R (DC2). The car was equipped with the gymkhana spec TYPE HT shock absorber but was revalved especially for this all tarmac event.
Almost a year had pasted since Shinkai’s last rally, but he had not lost his touch and set the best time in SS1. He continued performing well and finished DAY 1 in 2nd position. Rain fell during DAY 2 but this was not going to stop him as he continued to push even harder. He set the fastest time in the first SS of the day and took the top position. He never looked back from that point and went on to win the JN3 class.
The rally moves to Miyazaki Prefecture for Rd.2 “Himuka Rally ’10 in Misato” held from 7th to 9th May so look forward to more action from all TEIN users. |
