The fourth round of the 2010 All Japan Rally Championships (JRC) “Kuma Kogen Rally” was held from June 12th to 13th in Kuma Kogen, Ehime Prefecture. This round was a tarmac course covering a total distance of 106km. Conditions couldn’t be worse as strong winds on Saturday and heavy rain on Sunday made the rally very tough on all the drivers.

 

JN4 Class

TYPE Gr.N user Ishida had some trouble throughout the rally with his car by not getting maximum performance from his engine. However on the last stage of Day1 he managed to set the top time. On Day2 he continued to struggle with his engine and also the conditions didn’t help. He opted to play it safe to finish comfortably in 3rd overall position.

 

JN3 Class

Shinkai suffered some machine trouble in the last round, “Rally Hokkaido”, but was back looking for revenge on his favorable tarmac course. On Day1 he set 3 top times out of the 4stages of the day to finish in 1st position. But he had to keep focused for the following day as only 1 second separated him from 2nd position.

Day2 saw a horrid rain storm causing conditions to turn for the worst, but this didn’t put Shinkai off his pace, as he set 3 top times out of the 6 stages to take the overall victory with a huge 40 second lead over the second placed driver. This win was also the second win of the season, so we all hope he continues his great performance for the remaining rounds.

 

The 5th round of the JRC will be held from 16th – 18th July in Hokkaido for the “2010 Ark Rally” in Shiribeshi. Stay tuned for more exciting action for all TEIN users!
