Round 2 of the 2010 Super Taikyu Series was held at Sports Land Sugo. The qualifying sessions turned out to be a hard battle in ST3 class. The #27 BMW M3 which finished in 2nd place last round managed to set a great time to grab top position. TEIN users monopolized the top four positions as 2nd position went to #39 NSX followed by #51 Fairlady Z and #15 RX-7.
The #27 BMW M3 took control of the race from the start in ST3 class until the 14th lap when mechanical trouble forced the car off the course. Bad luck followed as the tow truck which came to assist got stuck and was unavailable to get out. After 5 laps passed, the car was finally able to get back but the damage was done and the time lost was just too much. #39 NSX was handed the top position and drove hard until the 87th lap when mechanical trouble forced the car to retire from the race. In ST4 class #12 Civic, which qualified in 4th position, drove consistently throughout the race to take the checkered flag in 2nd position. Matsui, the Civic Inter Series champion, was very pleased to finish on the podium after just only competing in his second Super Taikyu race. |
