What is the Monza Rally?
It is not your ordinary rally. This event is the final in the Italian motorsport calendar and has taken place since 1978. It takes place north of Milan, at the famous Autodromo Nazionale Monza.
It consists of 3 stages, which are further broken down into 8 special stages, totaling nearly 150km. It is a tarmac event held, within the Monza track with extra chicanes are added to restrict speeds getting too high. The race is against the clock, except for the crowd pleasing "Master Show" which sees the contestants go head to head in a knockout round.
