The Production car World Rally Championship (P-WRC) is a series to determine the Number 1 production car in the world.

|
The Production car World Rally Championship is one of only three global motorsport series appointed by the FIA (Federation Internationale de L'Automobile) along with the WRC (World Rally Championship) and the Formula One World Championship. While the WRC and Formula One use World Rally Cars and Grand Prix cars respectively, machines which are built solely for the purpose of competition in these categories and the pursuit of ultimate speed and performance, the P-WRC is a championship which uses production cars with very limited modifications. In other words, this category is about production cars competing on the road to become the world's number one. The regulations for Group N permit changing the suspension, but not altering its type or size. Therefore, the strongest brand of suspension is the one that knows the features of the road car best, and the characteristics of the roads around the world.

TEIN, who built its fame through success in Japan's national rally championship and the Super Taikyu Series, as well as many other events in Asia and the Pacific region, find this category an ideal platform to showcase its products. As the events are run in conjunction with the WRC, they are seen by everyone involved in the sport, including the manufacturers and teams. Many aspiring young drivers set their sights on participating in this category and striving for success on its variety of stages around the world. Teams competing in Group N cars need to know the characteristic features of each event and which strategies to implement. That is why this category is considered very professional in spite of the fact that it is a production car championship.
When TEIN decided to return to the WRC, they were not convinced that the P-WRC would be the ideal platform for them. However, testing the potential of their suspension parts in this environment was undoubtedly the quickest way to develop their products.
The P-WRC consists of 8 rounds per season (2007). Starting from the -25Z temperatures found on the Swedish Rally, the P-WRC moves to the equatorial climes of highland Mexico the following month for Round 2, then takes in the late fall of the Argentine stages in May before heading to Greece for the legendary Acropolis Rally in June where close to 40Z heat greets competitors on the dusty, rock-strewn stages.
For the second half of the season, New Zealand features smooth but uniquely cambered roads, with the high-speed gravel of Japan's stages next to welcome them. November sees the inaugural running of Rally Ireland with its unique tarmac stages, before rounding out the season on the muddy, forested tracks of Wales Rally GB.
The registered nationalities of the drivers and co-drivers show a decidedly international appeal, with competitors coming from Japan, New Zealand, the UK, San Marino, Finland, Cyprus, France, Qatar, Italy, Austria, Germany, the Czech republic, Jordan, Sweden, Estonia, the US, Argentina, Russia, Hungary, Poland and Slovenia.
