The All Japan Dirt Trial Rd.2 was held in Fukuoka prefecture. The day was blessed with excellent weather, but the first run conditions were wet, because the area was watered to suppress the dust and dirt in place. In the second run, the race line was dry but the other parts still wet, making it difficult to drive on.
The conditions influenced the N1 class the most. Kojima finished in 2nd place in the opening round, and was aiming for victory in this round. Unfortunately the wet conditions in the first run made him lose valuable time, and dropped him into 6th position. But in the decisive second run, he was able to drive on the edge of the racing line, which saw in come out of nowhere to claim victory.
In the N2 class, Hara, winner of the first run drove brilliantly with no affects of the weather or road conditions, claiming victory in both runs and overall victory.
In the SC1 class Yamato, who won his first event in the All-Japan event, looked in good form as only a mere 1.5seconds separated first and second positions. The second placed Oota was right on his heels and closed the gap to 0.1 seconds. The 3rd round of the championships will be held about 1 and a half months away in Hokkaido. We have high hopes for the favorable performance of the TEIN user’s to continue. |
