The 4th round of the All Japan Dirt Trial Championships, "The 34th DCCS Dirt Trial" was held at Maruwa Autoland in Nase, the same location as the 1st round. The conditions were dry for the first run, but in the afternoon, scattered showers troubled the drivers for the second run.
Kojima, in N1 class finished 3rd overall, losing out by a mere 0.5seconds, but still retains at the top of the drivers championships. In N2 class, Hara continued his winning form, set the fastest times in both the first and second runs bringing his win total to 4 consecutive wins.
In N3 class, Akaba was racing in his home ground, and came home in 2nd place, his best result of the season. Kawashima, in SA1 class, drove hard to close the gap to 2 seconds in the second run, but was unable to overtake the leader and finished in 2nd place.
SA2 class had the largest entry list in this event, and Kushida had to fiercely compete with the other 38 entrants. Slight rain fell in the afternoon affecting most drivers times. Kushida's time set in the first run allowed him to finish in 3rd place. Yamamoto, driving his Integra (DC5) in SC1 class finished in 2nd place with only 0.2seconds separating him from the leader.
Sumiyama in SC2 class set the best time in his first run, his personal best in the 2nd run, but it was not enough to beat this seasons leader Yatagawa, and finished in his 4th consecutive 2nd place, trailing by just 0.3 seconds.
The next round will be held at Circuit Park Kiriyanai in Aomori prefecture. We are expecting all TEIN users to continue their efforts in the second half of the season. |
