Round 8 of the All Japan Dirt Trial Championship, “Monte Carlo Cup Dirt Trial in Hiroshima”, was held at Technic Stage Takata in Hiroshima. Whenever anyone talks about dirt trial in the east, “Maruwa” comes to mind. And in the west, everyone thinks of “Techinic Stage Takata”. This is how popular this high speed course is, and was appropriately chosen for the final round of the season. It was a huge event this year and attracted an overwhelming 169 participants.
The weather was fine, and all the drivers were putting up fast times in the slightly slippery conditions. In N1 class, Kojima was in 2nd overall position at the end of the first heat, but as the road conditions became drier and stiffer for the second heat, he was able to take advantage, make up the difference between the leader to win the round! Though he missed out on the overall title, he was able to finish in 2nd overall position in the series championship.
As the 2008 season came to a close, Hara in class N2 took his 8th consecutive series championship and Kojima took 2nd overall position in class N1. Please look forward to more exciting action from all TEIN users next year. |
