The 6th round of the 2010 Finnish Rally Championship (FRC) was held from 27th to 28th August in Hyvinkää, southern Finland. TEIN Type Gr.N user J.Salo was already crowned the 2010 champion after grabbing second position in the last round, but he wasn’t going to ease up for this final round.
J.Salo set the fastest times for more than half of Day 1’s 11 stages and built up a 39.4second lead over closest rival J.Miettinen. Day 2 brought no changes as he didn’t take his foot off the pedal and continued to blast away from the pack. J.Salo set the top times in the first four out of five stages to increase his lead to a huge 2min35sec.
J.Miettinen unfortunately retired from the rally, giving J.Salo’s teammate, K.Katajamaki second position. The Mitsubishi Ralliart Finland teammates continued on to easily finish the rally taking the top two podium positions. This result gave K.Katajamaki the second overall position in the 2010 championship season and also the overall team championship!
