Round 3 of the 2010 All Japan Dirt Trial Championship, “Dirt Sprint in Monzen” was held on 20th June at Monzen Sports Park in Wajima city, Ishikawa Prefecture.
Rain was expected for the event with Japan now in the rainy season, but as the race day came, the conditions turned out to be dry. The course was filled with small stones making it slipperier than it looked and this troubled some teams as tire choices became more difficult.
In PN Class, Kawashima, who was said to dislike this course, managed to set the best times on both runs to take the win. He had nothing to say anymore as his time was 1 second faster than his closest rival and this win was his second of the season. Akaba had some trouble and made some minor mistakes in N3 Class to finish 5th overall. He has not performed up to expectations this season. But commented “there is nothing wrong with the dampers” with full confidence of his setup.
In SA2 Class, Kushida was only a split second behind the top runners, but could only manage to finish in 7th position. Nishimura, who finished 2nd in the last round in Maruwa, hit a ditch and had some gear trouble to finish in 14th position.
Kojima in SC1 Class had some minor trouble with his runs but was able to finish in 4th position. In D Class, Sumiyama was looking for his 3rd consecutive win, however during his second run he gambled by running on used tires. He had to push them right to their limits to take 2nd position, losing out by a mere 0.065 seconds.
Look forward to more action from all the TEIN users as the next round heads to “Auto Sportland Sunagawa” in Hokkaido on July 10th. |
