The fifth round of the All Japan Dirt Trial Championships, “Dirt Trial in KIRIYANAI” was held on 8th August at Circuit Park Kiriyanai in Aomori prefecture. The extreme conditions were a menacing opponent against all the drivers as temperatures rose well over 30degrees.
In PN Class, Kawashima, who stands at the top of the table with 3 wins under his belt, set the fastest time in the first run, and did not push in the second to comfortably finish in 2nd position. This pretty much seals his title heading in to the next round in Nozawa.
In N3 Class, Akaba was looking good in the practice runs and set the fastest time in the first run. However a regretful driving miss cost him valuable points as he finished in 7th position. He will continue to fight on in the next round, but unfortunately the chances are slim for him to finish the season on the podium.
In SC1 Class, Kojima, who had his first win in the Civic (FD2) in the last round, was looking for a repeat performance. He finished the first run in 2nd position and everything was looking good until in the second run where he just lost out to local drivers Ogasawara and Kudo to finish in 3rd position.
Stay tuned for more exciting action from all TEIN users as the next round will be held on 29th August at Motorland Nozawa in Nagano prefecture, |
